Nick Macaluso founded the original Nima's Pizzeria in 1982. Nick moved his
downtown Palmyra operation to its current location at 165 East Main Street in
1997. Purchasing a building on the main corner that had been converted from a
bank to restaurant proved to be a wise move, Macaluso experienced an increase in
business at his new location. Macaluso, already operating another Nima's
location in Clifton Springs, NY sold the original Nima's Pizzeria to local
residents James and Robert D'Arduini. James is a Palmyra resident and graduate
of Alfred St. University, while his son Robert resides in Macedon and is a
Palmyra-Macedon graduate and a SUNY Brockport graduate. Today the D'Arduini
family has expanded its focus to catering. Having catered hundreds of events
from weddings and graduations to school banquets and corporate gatherings.
Nima's continues to maintain the traditional old world recipes that have made it
a favorite stop for locals and tourist alike. Nima's has had customers from
across the country and around the world and is listed in Mormon National travel
guide as a favorite food stop in this historic canal-side village. |
